I have a few “resolutions” this year, but one I would like to share. For those who know me well, you know I hate (yes, that’s a very strong, yet accurate, word) to read. However, I felt it was something I needed to do more of and thus challenged myself to read one book a month. For my first book, my sister-in-law, Jennie, recommended ‘The Help’.
I started the book on January 1, and finished it earlier today. It was really easy reading (after a small adjustment to the language) and very entertaining. It made me laugh a lot and even cry. It also made me think, which I enjoy, but without making my brain hurt. I would definitely recommend this book.
So, I need some more recommendations, as one book a month might have been starting off small. Let me know a book you would recommend. I will be starting on another soon. Thanks so much!

I hate to read most books, but I love to read some. I know that doesn't make since. But I love John Grisham. And I recently read the "Catch me if you can" book. The bio of the guy in the movie. It was a quick read, and interesting. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! I will work on some other ideas for you. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteanything by Mary Ellen Edmunds! You can find her books in the desert books (and online). She is an LDS author and just talks about life in general, and she is funny! :)
ReplyDeleteoh and I heard EAT PRAY AND LOVE is really excellent! I haven't read it yet, but many people I know have and said it is an excellent book! Also the Kite Runner is suppose to be good as well, and the books from The Twilight Series
ReplyDeleteI hated to read and then joined a book club (didn't make much sence, I know) but they pick such good books that I am really enjoying it. If you liked The Help (I did too:) you might like These is My Words (I love that one) and The Hunger Games Series (Loved those too. There are three books in the series.)
