Our Garden

This year, with the help of a wonderful neighbor, we planted our first garden.  So far, with a lot of prayers, it seems to be doing okay (meaning, things are growing and have yet to die).  We planted corn, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, broccoli, radishes, lettuce and carrots.

I am looking forward to our harvest.  Even if we only get one of each item, at least we are following the counsel to have a garden.

HOME DEPOT JUNE 2012

Nathan and I took the kids to Home Depot last Saturday for the Kid’s Craft thing they do.  This time they made little compartment boxes.  It was fun and the kids actually use them!

Memorial Day

What did you do on your Memorial Day?  My amazing husband, built this beautiful pathway next to our garden.  I feel blessed to have such a handy, talented, hard-working (not to mention, handsome) husband!

What Have Nathan and I Been Up To?

Last weekend, Nathan had his first visit to the ER, his first surgery, and first overnight stay at the hospital.  Yes, after almost 5 hours in the ER, appendicitis was diagnosed and Nathan now has one less organ, whose purpose and function are unknown.  Sorry, no pictures!

Since Nathan had surgery, he got to take the week off, to heal and recuperate.  On Wednesday, we went to City Creek with my parents and younger brother and his family.  It was fun!!  The kids LOVED playing in the water and especially enjoyed hugging Nana and Bumpa after and getting them all wet.  We also stopped by the Conference Center on our way back to our cars.

Then came Friday…the YW/YM Dinner Auction.  Our presidency had been working around the clock to pull this all together.  It turned out to be a great success and a lot of money was raised for the youth to attend Girls Camp/High Adventure!  Our theme this year was a Spaghetti Hoedown!

What Has Dylan Been Up To?

Dylan, in a word, has been BUSY.  He has finished up soccer, is well into baseball and graduated Kindergarten today.

First, last month, Dylan was the top seller in Kindergarten for the Truman 5K.  For getting $300 worth of donations, he got a new lego set as a prize.  For being the top seller in his class, he got to take a limo ride to and from Texas Roadhouse, where he was treated to a tour and a lunch.  My mom, Avery and I went along too, though not in the limo.  Avery did get to ride in it on the way back!!

Dylan also went on his first fieldtrip to Cal Ranch. They took the bus, which the kids were far more excited about than anything else, and went and learned about baby chicks!

Dylan graduated Kindergarten from Truman Elementary School.  He had a great year and learned a lot.  He was blessed with an amazing teacher, Ms. French, and a school principal, Mr. Howe, that was tremendous as well.  This is the Truman Thunderbirds song.  Dylan loves singing it!
